Full Time London, England 10.56 - 12.04 GBP Today
Job description

About Us

MI5, MI6 and GCHQ are the UK’s Intelligence Services. We work together to safeguard Britain’s people, interests and businesses from various threats at home, overseas and online, including cyber-attacks, espionage, terrorism, and organised crime. Working across our vital missions, you’ll deliver impact at the heart of national security, all within a supportive and inclusive environment that allows everyone to thrive.

The Role

As someone with existing eLearning development experience, you’ll play a key role in leading innovation within our Digital Learning team. We encourage curiosity and facilitate learning that’s relevant, adaptable and customer orientated. With your background in delivering training (either face-to-face or producing eLearning), as well as eLearning design knowledge and skill in authoring tools, you’ll oversee the creation of graphics, illustrations, visualisations, and animations that enhance our colleagues’ abilities. You’ll lead by example as you help design learning tools that support each organisation develop their learning cultures and deliver digital transformation.

With your knowledge of design principles and best practice, you’ll take responsibility for the visual design of learning programmes and the creation of accessible, engaging content. The work is varied; you’ll be taking briefs covering a range of outputs such as visual graphics, animations, TV production or editing. You’ll liaise with members of the eLearning and Multimedia team as well as other Learning and Development (L&D) colleagues to deliver high-quality learning materials. Plus, you’ll perform technical and design quality assurance of colleagues’ work and mentor individuals within the team, and across the wider learning community.

About You

You’ll bring your learning and visual design experience to this role, as well as knowledge of one of the following: Adobe Suite, Illustrator and After Effects, Adobe Captivate, Lectora, VyonD, Premier Pro and other eLearning tools. This role would be well suited to a creative individual who is collaborative and adaptable and enjoys taking a positive approach to work and sharing skills and knowledge with others.

You’ll be customer-focused, and able to build great working relationships with internal colleagues, teams, and stakeholders. You’ll work closely with the Digital Learning team and oversee their work, while managing your own responsibilities. So, you’ll have excellent time management skills as well as a great eye for detail.

Knowledge of Interaction Design principles and the implementation of interactive learning material is required. You’ll also have a good understanding of accessibility principles and their application in a digital learning environment, as well as knowledge of learning management systems, content management systems, and similar online platforms.

Training and Development

In our collaborative working environment, you’ll be encouraged to continuously develop your skills and knowledge. You’ll receive training to ensure you’re up to speed with our preferred authoring tools (Adobe suite and Lectora). Your line manager will work with you to create a personal development plan, with funding allocated to support your ambitions where agreed.

We’ll look to you to review the work of your colleagues, adopt new approaches and ensure our learning content is the best it can be. Plus, with encouragement to develop your leadership and management responsibilities you’ll have support enhancing your career, including opportunities to formalise your training through Diplomas and TAP qualifications.

Rewards and Benefits

You’ll receive a starting salary between £38,647 - £39,411 (Cheltenham) or £40,673 - £41,387 (London) plus other benefits including:

  • 25 Days Annual Leave automatically rising to 30 days after 5 years' service, and an additional 10.5 days public and privilege holidays

  • Facilities such as a gym, restaurant and on-site coffee bars (at some locations)
  • Paid parental and adoption leave.
