THE ROLE
The mission of Sotheby's is to deliver the most compelling experiences filled with story-worthy moments of discovery and connection that deepen client relationships, bring the brand to life, drive word-of-mouth and increase lifetime value.
The Global Senior Brand Manager will support the Global Brand Director in building a distinctive platform and profile for Sotheby's. This includes aligning and integrating with the broader art and luxury ecosystem through partnerships and programming as well as working with regional leadership.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as brand guardian to ensure adherence to brand identity and guidelines, aligning with direction given by the Global Brand Director and Global Head of Creative Services.
- Collaborate with the Global Head of Content and Global Head of Proposals to project Sotheby's unique heritage, ecosystem and commitment to innovation.
- Optimise client cultivation via Sotheby's Preferred and Sotheby's Talks, managing all promotional elements and maximising reach where appropriate.
- Structure the annual marketing calendar, overlaid on our sales calendar, art fairs, and major exhibitions, in conjunction with the Global Brand Director. Cross-check with Chairmen and Departments to align focus and priorities.
- Align platforms and resource allocation with the Fine Art division, departments and regions for business getting and sale promotion.
- Develop distinctive annual brand campaigns, including major anniversaries and art world events, with the Global Brand Director and Regional Directors of Marketing. Ensure implementation worldwide, in particular the Editorial Board.
- Support the Head of Equity and Impact on any CSR initiatives.
- Amplify Sotheby's Services such as Valuations and Restitution, establishing best practice for Valuations Days and developing seasonal campaigns where necessary.
- Manage on-going relationships with strategic media partners and external talent, leveraged across events and content.
IDEAL EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES
- Bachelor's degree
- 7+ years' experience in brand and event marketing amongst HNWI
- Passionate about art and luxury and knowledgeable about the larger market ecosystem
- Solutions-oriented with strong project management skills
- An unwavering attention to detail and uncompromising standards
- Ability to collaborate in a team environment and as well as work independently
- Able to prioritize in complex, fast-paced environment working on several different and variety of projects at one time to tight deadlines
- Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills, as well as good interpersonal skills
- Proficient use of Outlook, Work, PowerPoint presentation development and Excel
- Additional languages a plus
