We have a great opportunity for a Senior Garment Technologist to join a leading design-led brand. Premium womenswear experience in softs is essential for this role.

We are also looking for temporary cover whilst recruiting for this role!

Role Overview:

The Senior Garment Technologist will be responsible for all woven dresses, tops, jumpsuits, skirts departments within the Womenswear division.

The Senior Garment Technologist must ensure a consistent fit throughout the soft woven and jersey aspect of the collection, monitor, and elevate the quality of the product and constantly evaluate and improve the fit of the garment.

Key activities include, fitting through all stages of style development from prototype to bulk production.

Throughout the fitting process the tech is responsible for ensuring comments and specs are clear & comments are supported with relevant diagrams or pictures, supporting the vendor / factory when necessary. Must be well organized, able to work to tight deadlines and be a clear and succinct communicator.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Must be accurate, skilled, and knowledgeable within fitting of Woven products.
  • Ensure critical path is managed with regards to fitting, sealing and production of garments
  • Liaising with our suppliers to relay technical queries and fitting details
  • Approving test reports and care instructions
  • Driving seasonal block refresh amendments and managing the updates across supply base.
  • Responsible for updating sample specs from proto to bulk production
  • Control and maintain a consistent fit from proto through to bulk production sign off
  • In-depth understanding of pattern cutting
  • In-depth understanding of grading to ensure fit consistency of styles for bulk production
  • Must be able to manage the category to key scheduled dates and deadlines
  • Strong team player

Skills, Qualities and Behaviours:

  • Relevant experience in Womenswear premium products is essential for this role
  • Good knowledge and understanding of garment construction, pattern cutting, fitting and grading, Woven

product background.

  • Good planning and organizational skills, adaptable to change and be able to meet the needs of the

business.

  • Proficiency in using Software: Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, an in-depth knowledge of

excel is required

  • Understanding of testing, analysing test reports and garment care
  • Ability to demonstrate confidence and assertiveness when communicating technical requirements, both

internally and externally

  • Good communication skills in English – written and oral
  • The ability to multitask, always maintain focused under pressure and ensure accuracy and attention to detail
  • Effective follow-up of technical investigations
  • Mature, calm, responsible with can do attitude
  • Flexible and hands-on mentality
  • Pro-active ‘can do’ attitude
