Job Description
We are currently seeking a talented Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst to join our dynamic client based in Cardiff.
In this newly created and critical role, you will collaborate closely with various departments to develop financial models, analyze data, and deliver strategic insights that drive informed decision-making and support our long-term financial plans.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis to develop and enhance medium- and long-term financial plans, including scenario planning and forecasting models.
- Take ownership of compiling relevant Key Performance Indicator (KPI) data and contribute to the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
- Work closely with Finance Business Partners to provide detailed analysis and explanations of operational aspects for senior stakeholders.
- Provide financial support for investment appraisals, including scenario analysis and post-investment reviews, in collaboration with the Finance Business Partners and Business Planning & Corporate Reporting team.
- Develop financial KPI reporting dashboards in conjunction with the Business Planning & Corporate Reporting team, ensuring they meet operational requirements and support income and cost analysis by line of route.
- Collaborate with the Human Resources team to support the framework for pay and productivity discussions through financial modeling, aligning with the Business, People, and Reward Strategy.
- Cultivate strong relationships within the finance function and across the wider group, managing stakeholder needs and views to facilitate successful project delivery.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial reporting and forecasting processes.
- Provide ad-hoc analysis and general support as needed.
The Successful Applicant
You will ideally be a qualified accountant with CIMA, ACCA or ACA, however QBE's with relevant skills will be considered
- Proven experience in financial planning and analysis, including the development of financial models and scenario planning.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial and non-financial data.
- Demonstrated expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and KPI reporting.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial insights to non-financial stakeholders.
- Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis tools.
- Experience in providing financial support for investment appraisals is highly desirable.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Proactive mindset with a drive for continuous improvement.
