We are looking for a Senior Finance Assistant to work in the Infrastructure Finance team which is part of the university Finance department. The role forms a key interface between Capital Project Finance and the Estates and Facilities Management (EFM) revenue finance. You will provide support to Finance Managers, Business Partners, departmental staff, and to the Head of Infrastructure Finance
You will be responsible for providing financial information in a timely manner and to agreed deadlines. You will be supporting the realisation of the University’s Estates Development Framework and will work across Capital and Revenue, Finance and Estates teams.
Ideally you will have previous experience of working across different teams and in producing accurate and high-quality financial information to multiple stakeholders.
The role will require an adaptable and enthusiastic approach, with excellent communication and organisational skills. You will be responsible for setting up project accounts, controlling and monitoring budget account activity, preparation of month end and year end requirements, as well as assisting with grant claims, audits, and act as a point of contact for departmental finance advice.
You will have the ability to prioritise your own workload and have a track record of working on your own initiative. You will be self-motivated, forward thinking and have a keen eye for detail and be ready for new challenges.
We are seeking candidates with a minimum of 5 GCSE’s grade A-C including both Maths and English. Ideally you will also have experience of using SAP or similar financial accounting systems, however this not essential.
This is an exciting opportunity for you to be part of a team that has expose to a diverse range of financial activities. In particular, working alongside project managers in monitoring capital investment projects that cover the entire University estate.
