The Team The team is currently made up of a Head of Finance (based in London), looking after the short and long term forecasting and providing support to the Senior Management Team on the high level strategy of the business, a Financial Planning & Analysis manager (based in London), who provides Senior Management and Managers insight to support efficient decision-making and departmental strategies, a Management accountant (based in London), responsible for reporting on Actuals and currently looking after the business as usual finance functions for both the UK & Ireland and the North American entities, and an Accounting Associate (based in NY), who assists with the business as usual finance functions for both UK & Ireland and North American entities.
The Role We’re looking to add a new member to our team to help absorb the increasing workload due to Spektrix’s rapid growth. This role will focus on the business as usual functions, allowing the business to run smoothly with timely payments, clear internal and external communication, and clean auditable accounting. It’s a great opportunity for a mission-driven finance professional with ambition to grow their skills and learn how finance best supports a fast-growing tech business like ours.

The role will report into the Management Accountant.

Key Responsibilities

Accountable for:
Ensuring employee expenses, vendor invoices and credit card reconciliations are entered into the accounting system in a timely manner

Ensuring all internal and external queries are answered punctually and maintaining a good relationship with different types of stakeholders

Ensuring sales invoices are raised accurately and within 3-4 working days from the beginning of the month

Collecting receivables and following up with outstanding balances and knowing when to escalate

Responsibilities and typical tasks Contribution to month-end close:

Prepare monthly bank reconciliations

Assist with end-of-month accounting entries

Assist with intercompany recharges

Updating UK/NA fixed asset registers

Internal business support

Setting up employees on finance systems

Internal communication: introduction of Accounts payable and receivable functions to new starters, maintenance of LMS and/or intranet

Ad hoc credit card payments

And then are likely to be extended to:
Support in regular sales tax review

Support with payroll

Support with annual audit - providing all necessary information to auditors

Support on annual US tax return filing

Support on annual Canadian tax return filing

Processing weekly UK/NA payment runs

Key Requirements
You should have

Confident and personable communication with internal and external stakeholders

Robust accounting knowledge

Strong accuracy and attention to detail

Good organisational skills and time management abilities

Confident using accounting packages, Word and Excel

Sense of initiative, self-starter, can adapt to evolving priorities

Working from home We aim to be as flexible as possible when it comes to working setups and lots of our team work from home on a regular basis. This means we generally work with a “remote first” approach even when we are in the office.

Travelling into your local office (commuting) is at your own expense with a stipend available, any travel for business (other than commuting) will be covered by Spektrix.
