A fantastic opportunity to join the Swansea Bay University Health Board Finance Team, as part of the Operational Finance Team (OFT).
Following a restructure within the Department there are 2 full time Band 6 posts that we are looking to recruit into. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team responsible for providing financial advice across the Health Board to support budgetary control and management processes.
We are looking to recruit dynamic, forwarding thinking individuals, who want to change and improve the way things are done within the Team and provide a first class service for the NHS. The Department is looking to encourage and support individuals in their development through on the job learning and rotating through various parts of the team every 18 months to gain experience and through supporting formal accountancy qualifications.

- Morriston Unit
- NPTS (Neath Port Talbot and Singleton) Unit
Agile Working
We recognise the need to develop modern working practices to enable our employees to maximise their performance and productivity whilst maintaining a good work life balance and so have adopted an Agile working methodology support by the Health Board Home Working Policy and the Departments Agile Working approach.
Work with all areas of the Finance Function to develop new and innovative ways to providing the services required, whilst maintaining excellent control and governance.
Working within broad occupational policies the Senior Finance Analyst will be responsible for the operational budgetary financial management and costing processes for a various area either within one Service Group or across a number of areas, supported by the Finance Managers. The post holder will also have responsibility for ensuring the highest standards of financial control and probity within specific Service Group activities and across the OFT.
Ensures financial information is processed in accordance with procedures through completion of own work and through the coordination of the work from Service Group Teams.
Investigates complex enquiries providing assistance and advice as required and contributes to the corporate reporting process.
Prepares and completes specific elements of the budgetary work related to several Services, ensuring that work is completed in line with financial timescales and legal requirements, interpreting these where necessary.
Provides advice on financial issues and associated necessary support to Budget Holders, including Service Group Managers and Management Teams.
The post holder will ensure the highest standards of financial stewardship and the active management of the delegated financial position to achieve breakeven.
Deputise for Finance Managers, as required.
