Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer
Location: Scotstoun
Salary: Up to £48,473 (depending on skills and experience)
Your main responsibilities as a Senior Systems Engineer will involve:
- Leading EOSCS Technical Reviews with supplier to ensure emergent technical issues and queries are followed through to completion
- Managing EOSCS observation reports raised at testing integration and installation by leading discussion with key stakeholders
- Supporting Integration, test & trials and acceptance activities at shore based test facilities and on ship.
- Managing EOSCS safety issues and hazard mitigations by providing understanding and evidence from the EOSCS document set as required
- Leading acceptance of EOSCS supplier produced document set by managing reviews and consolidation of comments from key stakeholders
- Leading interactions with Operations & Manufacturing Engineering teams during installation and setting to work stages of production
Your skills and qualifications:
Essential
- Systems engineering experience of both software, hardware and requirements
- Understanding of engineering principles and processes throughout the engineering lifecycle
- Delivering and integrating equipment into a complex engineering programme
Desirable
- Knowledge of Electro-optics systems
- Understanding of toolsets such DOORS, System Architect & Windchill, JIRA
- Maritime Domain experience
- Knowledge of warship design and the sound judgement needed to be able make correct trade-off decisions
Qualifications
Engineers at all levels should possess an academic qualification in Engineering or other related STEM subjects as well as specific (either academic or professional) qualifications and become recognised as Incorporated or Chartered Engineers through an appropriate recognised professional institution. Engineers are encouraged, and will be supported, to achieve the relevant accreditation. Preference will be given to candidates who are already professionally registered.

The Command and Information Systems team:
As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining all Electro-Optical Sensors & Control System (EOSCS) baseline information, coordinating activity to manage configuration control and ensure a coherent document set.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to work on the delivery of Complex Military Communications Systems into the newest Royal Navy Warship.
