WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time in the office.

About this Opportunity
At Lloyds Banking Group, we are seeking an exceptional and experienced Senior Design Researcher to join our Commercial Design Research Team. If you have a passion for uncovering insights, driving innovation, and crafting customer-centric solutions, this is the perfect role for you.
As the Lead Researcher, you'll be the driving force behind shaping the future of our Cash Management and Payments Platform, as well as our Markets Platform. Your keen eye for detail and strategic thinking will be instrumental in understanding the unique needs of our valued commercial clients, enabling us to deliver experiences that exceed their expectations.
Your days will be filled with exciting challenges and rewarding opportunities. You'll lead all research activities within these pivotal platforms, guiding the team in translating business objectives into well-crafted research plans. Your ability to collaborate closely with senior business stakeholders will ensure that our research efforts are precisely aligned with their needs, driving the efficient delivery of high quality, impactful research.
But it doesn't end there. As the lead, you'll also play a key role in managing and developing our team of talented junior researchers. Your mentorship and coaching will foster their growth and unleash their potential, resulting in a high-performing team delivering top-quality research outputs.
We are looking for someone with a true passion for design research, an insatiable curiosity, and a desire to make a difference. Your deep understanding of research methodologies and industry best practices will elevate our capabilities and keep us ahead of the competition.
What you’ll need
  • Strategic thinking and research planning – the ability to work closely with senior stakeholders to understand their business objectives and translate these into detail research proposals and research plans
  • Leadership – the ability to lead a small team of more junior researchers, helping them to deliver high quality research and also providing coaching and development to improve their research capabilities.
  • Deep qualitative and quantitative research expertise - understanding what is needed, crafting the brief, analysing and interpreting results. Plus a strong practical understanding of how to best apply a broad range of research techniques
  • Can translate business requirements into well-conceived and useful insight - Translate business requirements into well-conceived and actionable insight
  • Ability to speedily and proactively identify the most important and relevant insights from research and put these across clearly
  • Strong project management capabilities, adaptable and able to deliver multiple projects at the same time
  • Enjoys working in partnership with colleagues and suppliers to ensure delivery to specification, using budget efficiently and meeting timelines
  • Able to think expansively and design research studies that help to understand future customer needs and test future propositions
  • Ability to understand business challenges and influence / guide on relevant research requirements.
  • Ability to quickly translate business requirements into a coherent brief that balances cost, time and robustness.
  • Experience managing to a research budget and finding efficient ways to deliver high quality research
