The Out of Hours Dental Service provides emergency oral health care for patients , evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays.
The service is looking to recruit a Band 5 Senior Dental Nurse Advisor
This essential role will provide leadership & supervisory support for staff and clinical sessions.
Co-ordinate teamwork without direct supervision on site at the weekend together with an administration responsibility for staff rosters and payments.
The post holder will also provide assistance to the service Lead Clinician and Operations Manager.
Applicants must have excellent leadership, organisational and communication knowledge & skills alongside the experience of a qualified Dental Nurse
The individual will need to demonstrate innovation and initiative with a keen focus on continuing service development.
This is a part-time post, 15 hours per week and will include working one day Monday to Friday for administration responsibilities plus alternate Saturdays & Sundays.
This is a leadership role requiring 2 administration sessions per week to include managing the OOHs Health Roster, staff appraisals, completing staff bank shift payments as required.
2 sessions providing Dentalnurse advisor support on site for the OOHs Service to include evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays
The post-holder will be responsible for ensuring adequate clinical, nursing and reception cover for the OOH clinics completing a monthly staff programme on the OOHs workspace and circulating to staff. The role will include the line management and leadership for all sessional Band 4 Dental Nurses and Band 3 Clinic co-ordinators To provide management support to the OOHs Lead Dentist . Operational and DentalNurse Line Managers. To provide cover for planned leave of 2ndDN Advisor when required. To. liaise with external agencies eg Medivo – Devon Doctors.
To be responsible for the OOHs phone/receive/manage changes to planned shifts (on call basis) on a rotational basis.
