We are looking for Senior Agile Delivery Managers to join our growing community of delivery specialists at the BBC.
Our delivery community is part of the BBC’s Product Group responsible for the design, development and delivery of the BBC’s diverse portfolio of digital products. Loved and used by millions these are some of the largest and highest profile digital products in the UK. Our teams build iPlayer, Sounds, BBC News, Sport, Bitesize and supporting services. It’s an unparalleled portfolio and now is an incredibly exciting time to join us!
We’re looking for people with a passion for agile delivery with the behaviours to inspire and guide teams. You’ll work in small, friendly and collaborative agile teams of developers, researchers, designers, editorial, product and delivery people.

Main ResponsibilitiesAs a Senior Delivery Manager you will lead delivery across one or more agile teams.
You will do this by:
- creating great agile working environments for your team or teams.
- pro-actively managing capacity within your team(s).
- ensuring all work is visible and there is an iterative plan to work towards.
- making sure your teams understand their priorities and that these align across the organisation.
- communicating and visualising progress towards these goals.
- managing and addressing risks, issues and dependencies.
- engaging with key stakeholders on delivery.
- continually improving delivery methods and approaches to team working.
- establishing relationships and effective cross team collaboration.
- empowering teams to be self-organising.
- actively participating in the wider agile delivery management community.
- learning, sharing and applying skills and knowledge to improve.
The successful candidate will:
- Be adept at breaking down barriers for your teams with the ability to plan at a higher level and get into the detail to make things happen when needed.
- Know how to build a culture of psychological safety in teams and can actively manage team dynamics.
- Have demonstrable experience delivering digital products and services using agile methods.
- Have knowledge of a variety of agile practices and how best to apply these.
- Be a team player and active listener who can give clear, actionable feedback, allowing you to build trust, manage complex team dynamics, and motivate everyone to work towards a common goal.
- Have demonstrable experience in matrix-managing multi-disciplinary teams and be able to influence, bridge specialisms and navigate ambiguity.
