Job description

The Business Intelligence team harvests and processes large and diverse data sets from within and outside the organization. One of the ways in which value is garnered from this activity is in the clear and appealing visualization of the data.

The role of the Data Visualisation Analyst is to specify, develop, maintain and support this presentation of the data. It will also support management of the platform in terms of upgrade, permissions and licensing.

It will be required to be an active participant in all phases of project work, requiring good communications skills with technical and business colleagues and clear, written and spoken business English. You will be able to help our customers come to an understanding of the most helpful way to present their data
Key responsibilities:
  • Work with customers groups and project teams to understand how the data in our BI solutions can be best presented from the point of view of
    • Interactivity and data exploration
    • Clarity and aesthetic appeal
    • Ability to answer business and process questions
  • Development, testing and deployment of reports and dashboards in accordance with processes and guidelines
  • Partnering with ERP support for Oracle ERP report support and development
  • Develop and maintain guidelines and standards for visualization of data within the organization
  • Participate in the curation and preparation of data in our Data Warehousing solutions
  • License management and administration
  • Drive solution design in the direction of our target architecture
  • Maintain an awareness industry trends in the preparation and presentation of data
  • Incident Management, Request Fulfilment, Change Management
  • Working with Business Partners to produce enhancement definitions and estimates
  • Delivery of complete, easy to interpret documentation
  • Clearly record requirements expressed by customers and project team members
  • Contribute to High Level Design Documentation
  • Author Low Level Design Documentation
Skills and experience
  • Strong experience of development in a recent version of MS Power BI
  • Working knowledge of MS SQL Server Reporting Services
  • Exposure to other visualization and reporting tools
  • Good appreciation of SQL
  • Appreciation of master data management and data preparation techniques
  • Strong team player with experience of working in dispersed teams
  • Eye for the aesthetics of data presentation
  • Ability to form strong working relationships with diverse customer groups
  • Ability to work collaboratively with 3rd parties
  • Good communication skills and strong business English
  • 5 years experience working in IT 3 years in a data visualization role
