Job description
The post is a recruitment to an established Senior Data Scientist role supporting two complementary functions. Firstly, the role leads the reporting and analysis of patient feedback through an established analytical methodology, and secondly, the role provides a major focus for statistical support for Trust analysts (working with the Head of the Applied Informatics Service on a newly integrated analytical framework for the Trust), and to provide support for developmental and exploratory analytical pathways including outcomes, health inequalities, performance and support for QI.

The role will lead on developing innovative system analysis, developing, designing and building analytical and reporting systems, primarily to support detailed additional analysis of patient and carer experience and clinical and non-clinical information systems across the Trust.
The post is located in the Population Health Unit of the Trust which is also responsible for a range of other functions for public health (including specialist public health training) analytical work and prevention across the Trust. The unit also supports and contributes to ICS-wide data and digital work.

The role specifically will support the use of innovative and flexible reporting and analysis solutions and their roll out to front line managers and lead clinicians. The post holder will be the lead trainer for the development of the use of the R statistical package. The work will also include a wide range of statistical work for the Trust including close work with the Applied Information and Performance teams.
