About the role
As a Senior Data & Analytics Strategist, you will be an integral part of the Strategy Team assisting in the discovery, interpretation, and presentation of useful data. The role is split roughly 50/50 between existing clients and new business, so we will need someone who understands the fundamentals of great strategy and can back up any idea or proposal, with insights collected from primary (proprietary research and analytics) or secondary data (gathered from desktop research or personal observations). You will work closely with the strategy and creative team, (and the greater Chorus team when needed, see below) and will need to assist in a process that takes a client brief, and distils that ask into simpler (one page) strategic ‘asks’ that can be used to inspire creative teams.
Throughout this process, the ability to effectively prioritise and manage expectations from various stakeholders will be invaluable. You will also have help delivering expectations, but will be expected to line manage and assist in the career development of any junior colleagues that are assigned to you.
You will be the gatekeeper of various data tools – including Google Analytics, GlobalWebIndex, Brandwatch and Newswhip - as well as being responsible for educating and training others, where access permits, on their use. Also, as communication channels and objectives change, your role will include managing a research and analytics budget designed to help identify new and improved methods of measurement and research. This will include managing supplier relationships and regular liaison with Zeno and DJE (parent company) colleagues to drive network efficiencies.

You will be

  • Able to see beyond the data to insights that can create a strategic narrative good enough to support responses to both client asks and new business opportunities.
  • The data and analytics go-to resource, but also the educator of colleagues on both the scope of our analytics offering and, where possible, be able to create self-sufficient competence and skills with colleagues in the use of analytical tools.
  • Commercially aware, always ensuring your billing target, and that of any team members under your management as well as managing the measurement tools budget.
  • The lead in the development and implementation of efficient and effective reporting for clients on any projects or campaigns.
  • Able to analyse previous campaigns reports and incorporate any learnings into subsequent campaigns.
  • Comfortable presenting and interacting with clients and in pitches.
  • Able to develop an in-depth understanding of key marketing principles (path to conversion, traditional marketing funnel, McKinsey loyalty loop etc.) and be able to present data and findings as context.
  • Able to keep up to date on measurement developments in the comms industry, suggesting changes, updates and additions to our processes and software where required.
Career development

The next step up from this role is Senior Strategist. This is dependent on being able to evidence competence/excellence in the areas outlined above. As a Senior Strategist you will have more opportunity to play a heavyweight, consultative role with senior clients and significant new business opportunities. Your exposure and consequent impact on the business will be greater, in terms of conversion and growth.
In addition, you will have the opportunity to develop your ‘pureplay’ strategic skills further, under the tutelage of the Strategy Director, with a view to potentially progressing into a classic planning/strategy role should this be a direction you wish to pursue.
To do this the agency will take an active and collaborative approach to your career development. As well as APG membership, specialist training requests will always be considered, and we actively encourage development via the Zeno network, building relationships with specialist colleagues across the globe.

Every Chorus member has responsibility for delivery and excellence within their own field but is also tasked with identifying and facilitating opportunity and integration within the practice. There are three distinct teams within Chorus – Creative, Strategy and Digital Innovation. This role sits within the Strategy Team and reports into the Strategy Director.
