In the Credit Risk Systems team, we use Decision systems to ensure we lend responsibly, profitably, and achieve outstanding customer outcomes. We’re looking for a highly motivated individual to join us to build and support the implementation of Risk systems strategy changes, for both existing and new products, whilst supporting the Risk team in the development of strategies. You’ll be responsible for interpreting complex requirements and designing, configuring and testing systems to meet those requirements.
You’ll be joining a growing team and gain extensive exposure to the key areas of the Bank - including Commercial, Finance and Operations – as well as Senior Management.
As well as home working, this opportunity can be based at any of our Store Support Centre locations, Edinburgh, Manchester, Milton Keynes or Widnes.
What success looks like?
You’ll have a background in working with Credit or Fraud Risk Decision Systems, and able to bring to the team best practice ideas on how to make the best use of those systems. You’ll enjoy engaging with a range of stakeholders, including 3rd parties, providing valuable support and insight into the system capability. You’ll have excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills. You’ll have excellent attention to detail during the process of designing, building and testing required system changes.
What you’ll be doing
- Delivering end to end development and integration of risk systems across SBAFS.
- Engage with all stakeholders within the project life cycle, assisting with the requirements gathering process and provide input to detailed requirements documentation.
- Assist in the development, build and maintenance of SBAFS Risk systems (covering application and customer management decision systems).
- Assist in the continual improvement of Risk systems and performance.
- Implement strategy changes in Risk Decision Systems, addressing implementation concerns as appropriate. Undertake Testing and produce auditable documentation.
- Be proactive and creative in dealing with any problems/issues identified throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop relationships with SBAFS outsourced Credit Decision Systems partners.
- Assist in the development and production of efficient and effective MI, to monitor system decisions and performance.
- Ensuring MI is presented in a format to engage the audience and promote actions.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues in other areas for the obtaining / exchange of information and the identification of best practice.
What you need to know and show
- A background in Decision Systems and/or integration to account management platforms (such as Experian, SDS, Theta Origins or TSYS TS2 and/or Risk Management is a prerequisite. However, training will be provided on required systems).
- It would also be an advantage if you have experience in the use of computer-based software statistical packages (e.g. SAS, R, Python or SQL) and/or data mining applications, however this is not essential.
- Well organised and able to prioritise workload in line with tight deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
- Excellent technical skills in the area of Excel and macros.
- Excellent team player with ability to working closely with others to deliver results.
- Proven track record of working on own initiative, with the ability to introduce fresh thinking to the role and the wider risk team.
- Strong relationship management skills.
- Excellent written communication – business and project reports and PowerPoint presentations.
- Exceptional communication skills ‐ ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders and have the ability to translate complex / technical issues.
