We are recruiting a Senior Counsellor with skills in the practical application of NICE recommended modalities in particular Interpersonal Psychotherapy. The post holder will provide both individual and group supervision for IPT therapists within the team and IPT supervision training would be provided to support them in doing so. It is important that the post holder has been qualified at practitioner level for a minimum of 1 year in this approach and are experienced enough to support trainee IPT Practitioners offering the full 16 session IPT treatment model having worked across the board in all four focal areas.
They would carry a small caseload of their own IPT clients to continue to keep their practice up to date. If qualified in another modality such as CfD (Counselling for Depression) then this would also be utilised within the service in seeing supervisees practicing from this approach if required. The post holder would also take on other senior duties within the team to support the Counselling and Psychotherapy Professional Lead and be part of the duty rota for the service as well as undergo complex assessments. We welcome applications from IPT Accredited psychotherapists or those with dual training in Counselling for Depression and IPT.
We are excited to offer this as a remote post. There will be an expectation for you to attend face to face commitments in Cornwall up to 5 times a year as part of your contract, this includes your induction into the service.
The post holder will be an experienced counsellor and supervisor holding a recognised qualification, accredited with IPTUK and ideally BACP, UKCP.
This is a faced-paced role, carrying responsibility at Senior level for the implementation of IPT in the service to support the Counselling and Psychotherapy Lead and our small but growing IPT team of trainees. The post holder will work in the Talking Therapies service to assess, formulate and implement psychological interventions under the guidance of supervision and within the parameters of a Talking Therapies service. You will need to be able to work on initiative and be flexible to providing adequate support for clinical work.
The post holder will be responsible for offering independent clinical supervision and related duties deemed appropriate within the service by the Counselling and Psychotherapy professional lead and Talking Therapies service lead.
As a Counselling/Psychological Therapist you will be working with individuals experiencing low mood/depression. All Talking Therapies counsellors/psychological therapists, are required to deliver high quality
services through the use of routine outcome measures, evidence-based treatment, electronic record and data management systems, participation in clinical and management supervision.
