Job description
Who We Are
Our economists, finance experts, and sector specialists draw on a diverse set of skills to help answer a wide range of economic, regulatory, and public policy questions.
We work on varied and challenging assignments across a wide range of industries. We advise governments, regulators, companies, and investors on how to achieve regulatory outcomes that strike a balance between efficient operations, competition, and continued improvement in customer outcomes.
What We Do
Examples of our recent projects include:
Wholesale market design in the energy sector in Australia
We helped the sector regulator in Australia re-design the wholesale market for energy in light of growing peak-time demand, reduced international emissions targets, ageing coal plants, rising gas prices, and newly available renewable energy sources.
Modelling the earning potential of rural broadband networks in Europe
We worked with telecom operators in the UK and the Republic of Ireland to model the earnings potential of rural broadband networks to determine the level of subsidy that would be required to meet targets for high-speed broadband coverage and take-up.
Tariff design in the payments sector in the UK
We supported a payment systems operator in the UK review its approach for setting fees for using cash machines. We recognised that vulnerable consumers should continue to have free access to cash but that the costs of operating the network would ultimately have to be borne by consumers.
Access charges in the airports sector
We examined the impact of building a third runway at Heathrow Airport on the rent that airlines pay for preferred departure slots and, ultimately, on ticket prices .
What You Will Do
Our practice is growing quickly, and it is an exciting time to join us. We work on fascinating projects across many different industries and countries in situations that matter greatly to our clients. As a Senior Consultant you will have the opportunity to apply your intellect and skills to a diverse range of economic, regulatory, public policy, and business issues. You will play a key role in our projects, working in small teams to carry out industry, market, and quantitative analysis, and to report our findings in a clear, concise, and structured way. You will have opportunities to engage and interact with our clients from the outset through face-to-face meetings and workshops.
How You Will Grow
We offer a competitive and attractive rewards package, excellent training and development, opportunities to work abroad, and a supportive and friendly environment that will help you to achieve your potential.
