The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior or Principal Consultant to join the Healthcare Technology group. You will take a leading role in the delivery of medical device and life science technology development projects, solving complex technical problems, and developing new products and processes.
Main Duties/Key Responsibilities:
- Leading and managing medical device and life sciences projects, guiding the team to deliver against client and company project objectives.
- Taking a lead role when interacting with clients to build credibility and develop lasting relationships.
- Supporting colleagues in the application and development of their skills and experience, with a focus on junior members of the team.
- Supporting business development opportunities, through networking and representing the company externally and leading or contributing to proposals.
- Depending on your specific expertise, breadth of experience and interests, there will also be scope for contributions on a range of projects in other areas of the business.
About You
Education/Qualifications:
Essential:
- A technical degree in mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, product design, physics or a similar technical subject, or equivalent experience.
Desirable:
- Chartered Engineer or equivalent.
Knowledge and Skills:
Essential:
- Proven track record in leading the design and development of medical products and devices, from concept to production, in a device manufacturing or consultancy environment.
- Significant experience in healthcare and medical products, working within ISO 13485 or to the equivalent regulations and requirements of the FDA.
Desirable:
- Application and understanding of key industry standard and regulations e.g. ISO 13485 or 21CFR Part 820, ISO 14971, IEC 62304, IEC 62366.
- Experience in managing the transfer to manufacture and/or industrialisation of devices through high-speed automated assembly processes.
- Experience working in a technical consulting environment.
Verbal and Written Communication Skills:
Essential:
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts and analysis to a range of audiences from technical experts to non-technical clients.
- Ability to present technical subjects in a compelling way, identifying the implications and demonstrating the implications to clients.
