We are looking for experienced Children’s Residential Support Workers looking to work in a three-bed therapeutic children’s home looking after young people (7 to 17 years old) with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
Salary of up to £12 per hour, paid sleep ins, and overtime at 1.5x hourly rate available.
Your duties:
- Support the Registered Manager in providing leadership in the home and supporting both the needs of the young people and the Residential Support Workers as their line manager
- Supervise and undertake lead key-working responsibilities, including primary responsibility for overseeing the implementation and adaptation of young people’s risk assessments and in house placement and care plan
- Be a positive role model for the young people
- Take responsibility for the safeguarding of young people
- Support Young People with day-to-day routines and education
- Support Young People to take part in activities in the community and go on holiday
- Encourage independence
- Accurately record and update information in care plans
- Develop professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Attend meetings with your team and the young people
- Hold key work sessions with the young people
- Take part in training, development, and regular supervision
What we need from you:
- Be a dedicated team player, committed to helping young people achieve positive outcomes
- You must be over the age of 21
- Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Children and Young People (or equivalent)
- Full UK Driving Licence (preferable)
- A minimum of two years of experience working in a residential childcare setting
- The flexibility to work on a rota system (mostly 2 days on/4 days off) including sleep ins and overtime where required.
- Strong communication skills with young people, team members and other professionals
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check, along with satisfactory references
