Senior Chargeable Waste Officer
Salary range: £34,731 to £41,703
Contract Type: Fixed Term (18 months initially).
Hours per week: 37
The Service
Are you experienced in delivering customer facing services, generating income and managing customer expectations? If you are then we’d like to hear from you.
It is an exciting time to work with us, as we develop our commercial waste collection services and consider new opportunities for income generation.
The Role
You will lead a small team in managing and developing the chargeable waste services, with a primary focus on commercial waste collections. These services are delivered to customers through our waste collection and cleansing contract.
You will play a key role in generating income for the Council through development and delivery of the business and marketing plans for chargeable waste collection and cleansing activities.
You will also be responsible for developing new offers, expanding the existing services and customer base, along with considering opportunities for further income generation with the Team Leader.
Who are we looking for?
You will be an engaging team player who is experienced in generating income from the delivery of customer facing services, providing high quality customer support, and developing new services with your team.
Preferably educated to degree level (or equivalent), or with relevant experience, you will ideally have experience working in the waste management industry, knowledge of the relevant legislation and experience of contract management.
You will be able to demonstrate experience of financial management including income generation, sales and commercial awareness.
You will also be resilient, open to change and have the ability to lead your team in shaping the future of chargeable waste services in Cornwall.

Location
This role is based in Cornwall.
You will be required to work in a hybrid manner e.g. both from home and in office locations in Cornwall.
