We are looking for a Senior Carer who would like to be part of a small friendly Nursing Home in Dorking.
As a Senior Carer we are looking for a good role model for good practice and a champion for residents’ dignity and safety.
Ensuring the highest possible levels of care are maintained by supporting/assisting residents, when required, with washing, dressing, and all other aspects of daily living. Assisting residents in all aspects of their care needs
You will be involved regularly assessing, monitoring, and reviewing day to day processes, coming up with improvements where required. It is about ensuring that clear and accurate records and communication systems relating to clinical and care delivery are properly maintained and effectively used.
What you’ll need
An NVQ or above qualification and relevant experience is essential, including a good understanding of care planning processes and a proven ability to write concise care plans. We’ll also be looking for individuals who are well-organised, with excellent supervisory skills and used to planning, allocating and delegating work appropriately. What's more, you have experience of contributing to, monitoring and implementing changes that improve outcomes for residents. Above all, you have a natural ability to help make the lives of others more fulfilling and want to work in an environment where the work can be hard, but also fun and rewarding.
Responsibilities
· Assist Clinical Lead / Nurse in the performances of their duties as required.
· Report and record the wellbeing of service users.
· Guide, train and supervise junior staff members.
· Assist and participate in assessment and evaluation of service users care and welfare.
· Attend meetings as directed by the manager.
· Direct and manage the team of Health care Assistants during the course of each shift, meeting the best needs of the service users.
· Helping patients with physical and mobility problems by providing suitable aids and personal equipment.
· Assist patients who need help and encourage them to be self- sufficient.
· Take necessary steps for prevention of bed sores to vulnerable patients.
· Provide adequate psychological support to the patients, when needed.
· Maintain effective communication with other members of the health care team and patients relatives to facilitate cooperation and good patient care.
