Job description
As senior care assistant, the role is to be part of and to support the management team in all aspects of the care management, including possibly taking temporary complete charge during the absence of the team leader. To provide leadership to other staff in meeting the personal care needs of service users in ways that respects the dignity of the individual, and promotes independence, equality and social inclusion. To help train “on the job” new and inexperienced members of staff in all aspects of their work. To provide “sleep-in” cover when necessary (as applicable). To ensure that the people you look after are always kept safe from harm in line with Certified Care Solutions Ltd safeguarding policies and are not discriminated against in any way.
Details of duties:
- Supervise/support staff as agreed with management of Certified Care Solutions Ltd.
- To work in conjunction with the management of Certified Care Solutions Ltd.
- To work with service users, in co-operation with other staff and agencies, on the development and implementation of individual client centred care plans.
- To support service users, advocate on their behalf and to maintain their rights and responsibilities in receiving services that will support them in achieving their desired outcomes as detailed in their care plans.
- To attend meetings with other staff, management, and other relevant agencies.
- To attend/chair monthly team meetings to engage in the exchange of information and communication internally and externally to meet identified needs and foster professional development.
- To support service users who need help with getting up in the morning, dressing, undressing, washing, bathing and toileting and food/drinks preparation.
- To support out of hours service coordination.
- To support service users with mobility issues and other physical disabilities a including continence support.
- To support service uses with specialist needs i.e., stoma/catheter support.
- To support in the promotion of mental, physical, and emotional wellbeing of service users.
- To make and change beds; tidy rooms; do light cleaning and empty commodes.
- To read and write reports and take part in training activities as directed.
- To always comply with the Certified Care Solutions Ltd guidelines and policies.
- To report to the Team Leader any significant changes in the health, wellbeing, or circumstances of a service user.
- To encourage service users to remain as independent as possible.
Hour
40 hours a week
Details of the skill, experience and qualifications required for each post:
- NVQ 3 Level in Care and a willingness to obtain NVQ level 5 Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care – Adults.
- Able to understand and be sensitive and sympathetic to the needs of service user groups.
- One or more years of working in social care.
- Must be an active team worker.
- Positive attitude, self-motivated, well organised and caring.
- I.T. literate
- Ability to communicate effectively, one to one, in groups and in a wide range of contexts.
- Good spoken and written English skills.
- Ability to work under pressure on own initiative or as part of a team.
- Willingness to work within the aims, ethos, and objectives of Certified Care Solutions Ltd
- Able to demonstrate a commitment to continual personal & professional development
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Willingness to undergo training as may be required
- Able to work flexibility.
- Enhanced DBS/CRB disclosure
- Full Driving license and access to transport for business use.
Job Type: Full-time
