About the role
NHS England has funded an independent Race and Health Observatory and has commissioned the NHS Confederation to host the Observatory in its initial stages. The Observatory’s role is to address the long-standing health inequalities facing Black and Minority Ethnic communities in England.
As a Business Support Officer you will provide specialist business and administrative support including:
- Providing administrative support for tenders and contract management.
- Supporting the Business Manager in drafting expenditure contracts once they have been awarded.
- Assisting with financial controls including supplier set-up and raising purchase orders.
- Overseeing and providing high quality secretariat support for stakeholder and working group meetings, including preparing agendas and taking minutes.
About you
We would love to hear from you if you:
- Are interested in tackling race inequality for patients, communities and the NHS workforce.
- Enjoy dealing with, and responding effectively to, complex queries and passing on relevant information to appropriate team members sensitively and in a timely manner.
- Have experience in maintaining constructive relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Have excellent communication skills and negotiation skills.
- Have significant experience of supporting tender and contract processes.
- Have knowledge of financial systems and processes.
- Enjoy being part of a small, passionate and adaptable team.
