Senior Business Analyst
Contract type: Permanent

Location: Whilst your base office will be in London, we’ll support you to work flexibly from home (providing a suite of IT equipment), whilst coming together on site to offer face to face support and collaboration once a week or when required

Salary: Starting from £51,200, depending on experience + excellent benefits
As the Senior Business Analyst within the Wholesale Market Services (WMS) team, you will play a leading role in formulating, directing, and supporting the delivery of small, medium, and large-scale business change initiatives undertaken by the business.
Wholesale Market Services (WMS) is responsible for managing the gas and electricity energy needs of our residential and business customers and for managing the needs of the Generation fleet. Activities across WMS include, modelling and analysis, demand forecasting, portfolio hedging, short term optimisation and Generation liaison.
The opportunity…
As a core member of the team, you will work in partnership with T3/T4 business leaders, deploying expert business analysis skills and broad business knowledge to create solutions that provide significant business benefit. You will orchestrate the construction of robust business cases for complex business change and identify the initial risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies that affect the successful outcome of the project.
The Senior Business Analyst is instrumental in shaping the structure of the business change activity and has responsibility for leading the Business Analysis work stream. You will collaborate with senior management and other key stakeholders to capture, evaluate, and prioritise business requirements.
The key purpose of the Senior Business Analyst is to define and assure the business intent of any given change and articulate this through requirements and then protect that intent through the delivery lifecycle. It is also to challenge the business request to ensure that projects achieve the right outcome for the business as a whole and not just individual users.
What we’re looking for…
As the Senior Business Analyst, you will demonstrate excellent business and industry acumen with a broad understanding of EDF Energy and its business and customer challenges, understand the wholesale markets and the commercial environment within which Customers work.
You will have strong business analyst skills including experience of working with an agile DevOps team, experience of data analysis and a good understanding of business process analysis and design techniques.
With a collaborative approach, you’ll be a great partner to internal and external stakeholders, and you will demonstrate excellent communication and presentation skills in order to facilitate workshops when required.
