We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Business Analyst to join our team in London.


Brady is a leading provider of trading, risk and logistics management software solutions to global energy markets. For over 30 years, we have been supporting our customers with mission critical trading software enabling them to trade power and gas, renewables, metals and agricultural commodities. With the massive expansion in the use of renewable energy sources, electric vehicles and battery production, the energy and power markets are currently undergoing significant disruption.


The Senior Business Analyst role is a key contributor to the creation of the product vision, short term and long-term product strategies, customer value propositions, and the introduction of new product features through applying business and market experience. This includes customer, prospect and market engagements to conduct stakeholder needs, competitive, functional and non-functional requirements gathering and gap analysis.


Through close partnership with our customer base, the Senior Business Analyst defines market and customer requirements. Reporting to the Product Director, the Senior Business Analyst works closely with the Product Manager to turn these into product requirements and engages with the Product Manager and the Product Marketing team to transform these findings into sales enablement and market facing collateral. The Senior Business Analyst works across multiple internal and external stakeholder groups to ensure product strategy alignment and the seamless execution of the strategy into tangible product delivery and customer value realisation.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Use existing domain knowledge to influence product development ensuring that key functionality for all customers is prioritised
  • Support the Product Manager in the maintenance of the product vision, roadmaps, and business cases, and associated presentation packs including the product board meeting
  • Interact/collaborate with internal and external customers to understand and document their business requirements aligned with Brady’s standards
  • Review business requirements and functional specifications to ensure planned developments meet market requirements and are aligned with product and technology strategy
  • Write business requirements for new product developments to ensure customer and market requirements are accurately captured and prioritized
  • Work with the Product Manager to create well defined Epics and Stories complete with Acceptance Criteria
  • Work with the Product Manager to ensure that the proposed Business solution is not bespoke to a single customer and will add value to all existing and new customers
  • Support Sales Director with regular cadence of Customer Advisory boards, providing product demos and taking the lead to verify product queries
  • Prepare for and run product demos/presales to ensure the customer understands the full benefit of the solution offered
  • Together with the Product Delivery Manager create, maintain and share scripted demos to ensure work is reusable and extensible
  • Together with the Product Delivery Manager ensure the customers test/acceptance of the solution is acceptable to Brady
  • Interact with the Delivery function, to ensure requirements are fully understood.
  • Participate in the Agile development process (from a functional perspective) as required
  • Proactively make recommendations for further strategic product enhancements
  • Write user documentation to ensure users are able to understand and optimize our products
  • Together with the Product Manager collaborate with Product Marketing to prepare sales enablement collateral and run training for internal staff to build product and market expertise within the company
  • Keep informed of competitor developments, ensuring that Brady product does not fall behind
  • Together with the Product Manager maintain and build relationships with market influencers and customers to ensure we are aware of market changes and opportunities and can respond accordingly
  • Actively participate in market change working groups, attending all relevant meetings and providing feedback to key internal stakeholders
  • Coordinate dependencies with other Product Managers and Senior Business Analysts
  • Work with UX designer to develop product demonstrations
  • Remain up to date with developments in our core markets to ensure we remain current and can identify opportunities and add value to customers
  • Collaborate with Head of Sales to ensure product delivery teams are fully informed regarding the sales funnel and working to deliver and support opportunities throughout the sales process and subsequent customer lifecycle
  • Work closely with the Sales and Support functions to regularly review and triage the backlogs, turning around requests for service in a timely manner

Competencies:

  • Track record of working in a team that has delivered large scale software applications
  • Active listening to customer problem statement, curiosity to discover, document and ratify the problems we can solve for customers and unique value we can provide
  • Ability to explain key business and market concepts in a clear and concise manner
  • Deep domain knowledge
  • Experience of working in an agile environment
  • Expertise in business process modelling and business analysis documentation
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to form and manage relationships with a variety of key stakeholders
  • Quick to understand and explain new concepts
  • Prepared to travel to customer sites both locally and overseas

Knowledge:

  • Significant knowledge and understanding of front-office trading
  • Significant understanding of middle-office and back office functions
  • Ability to stay informed of upcoming market changes, determine which are relevant and conduct gap analysis with the existing product.
  • Demonstrable experience in business analysis and working directly with customers and prospects to understand and document their business requirements
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience of working with agile development teams
  • Experience in the Energy or Commodity Trading and Risk Management sectors
  • Experience of Energy/Commodity Trading system
