Hours: Casual
Contract Type: Casual
Service Area: Finance – One West
Department: Pensions
Are you looking for an exciting opportunity in Pensions working for the Avon Pension Fund?
One West is an independent service within Bath & North East Somerset delivering specialist professional services to a diverse set of Clients. The Avon Pension Fund sits within this service portfolio and delivers its services independently.
We are looking to recruit an experienced Pensions Manager to support our transformational activity. You could be allocated anything from high profile one-off project work to interim and call-off senior management support.
We are looking for a confident individual, able to understand the complex legislative world of pensions administration and translate this to delivery of services to our members and employers. You will be able to deliver on high profile projects as well as being able to supervise staff and manage successful teams. Experience in both preparing and presenting reports to Committee or Board Meetings is an essential part of the role.
All of our services are based on delivering excellence and you will be supported with a ‘can do’ culture and a freedom to operate but in return we will expect a confident and focussed individual who is able to communicate well at all levels.
The role is rewarding, and you will be working with a high performing team who want to provide excellence in service delivery. We offer a supportive flexible work/life balance, which includes full home working where appropriate.
This is an Associate (Casual) role - i.e. there are no contracted hours - so you will be offered project work as necessary based on your capabilities and you will be paid on an hourly basis plus an additional 12.66% to the advertised salary rate as no leave or sickness is included for casual staff.
Your main place of work will be the award-winning, modern Civic Centre in Keynsham, halfway between Bath and Bristol, easily accessible via car or public transport, with a train station 5 minutes’ walk away.
Why B&NES Council?
We offer a wide range of benefits, to ensure that you are paid fairly for your work, have the flexibility to enjoy a great work/life balance, and have the support you need. These include:
- A competitive salary package
- A range of flexible working and hybrid working options, including flexi-time, four regional offices and home-working, dependent on service requirements
- The Local Government Pension Scheme
- A comprehensive Employee Assistance Programme – whatever life throws at you; we are committed to supporting you and your well-being at work and home
