rradar is looking for a Senior Associate solicitor to join us and work as part of the Employment team in our Glasgow office.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a close-knit team, where you will gain exposure to a broad range of interesting Employment cases. This role has potential for development and progression for an individual with strong technical ability, a solid grounding in Employment and a willingness to assume responsibility.
The successful candidate will take a proactive role, working both autonomously and as part of a team and will have good experience over a variety of Employment disciplines. They contribute to the growth and development of the department and supervise and mentor other members of staff when required.
Duties include:
Working independently with day-to-day conduct of own files which may be complex and high value.- Representing, advising and supporting clients over a broad range of Employment disciplines including but not limited to: Unfair dismissal, Discrimination, TUPE and Whistleblowing.
- Working within an insurance funded litigation environment and considering matters of insurance policy coverage and providing claims handling support to insurers.
- Working across the business supporting the delivery of complete, accurate and timely legal services on all Employment matters.
- Providing a caring, quality service to the company’s clients in accordance with the plans and targets of rradar.
- Conducting own cases and assisting other fee-earners in providing advice and representation to the company’s clients.
- Promoting the services of the Employment team internally and externally. Taking a proactive approach and developing a fee-paying client base.
- Carrying out duties in a professional manner, complying with relevant professional standards and any requirement set by relevant regulating bodies including the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) and the Law Society of England and Wales.
- Developing and maintaining the competencies necessary to provide a proper standard of service to clients and maintaining a record of professional development.
- Participating in projects to develop, improve and optimise services, both as part of our continuously evolving product range and also in response to changes in the law affecting clients.
- Supporting the Legal Manager representing, supervising, and managing junior team members work as appropriate.
Required skills:
The ideal candidate will have general Employment expertise which will ideally include, claims which start at the ACAS EC stage through to a final hearing.
They will also:
Be a qualified Solicitor or Equivalent, with a minimum of 4 years PQE.- Have experience working in a busy, reputable Employment team within a well recognised practice.
- Have experience dealing with a large, varied, and complex case load.
- Have prior supervisory experience, developing and coaching.
- Have experience identifying and developing new business opportunities and relationships.
- Have working knowledge of IT systems such as Word, Outlook, case management systems (ideally proclaim) and digital dictation systems.
- Be able to exhibit strong ability to work on own initiative using their autonomy, whilst also being a strong team player.
It would also be desirable for them to have solid insurance litigation experience and understanding of Employment litigation policy related issues.
