The Lazard Global Healthcare Group is made up of c. 85 specialist healthcare bankers anchored in the London, New York, Paris and San Francisco offices, assisted by local bankers in all other major global financial centres. As part of this global group, the European Healthcare team in London represents ~20 specialist healthcare bankers that cover companies from the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medtech and healthcare services sectors, as well as private equity and venture capital firms. We are involved in strategic dialogue with these clients on a daily basis, offering critical independent advice to boards and senior management across strategic and financial matters, including mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, and capital raises.
Senior Analyst / Junior Associate – Global Healthcare Group (London)
Overview:
The Senior Analyst / Junior Associate will assist senior bankers in the preparation of presentations and other materials, as well as providing day to day project execution and marketing support. The successful candidate will perform financial analyses and assist in transaction activities, and is expected to maximise the opportunities to learn from and obtain knowledge from more experienced colleagues within the department:
We’ll trust you to:
- Demonstrate strong technical and analytical skills;
- Develop, analyse, sensitise and adapt both internal and client-prepared financial analyses and models;
- Assist in the preparation of presentations and marketing materials for Healthcare clients and prospective clients in consultation with senior team members;
- Develop new ideas for the creation of new business;
- Assist with the execution of Healthcare M&A transactions in a flawless and efficient manner;
- Create productive relationships with clients and advisors;
- Assist Managing Directors and other senior bankers with tasks on an ad-hoc basis;
- Manage own work and that of junior colleagues effectively; take responsibility for accuracy; quality check finished products with regards to content, consistency and grammar;
- Day to day management, supervision and development of Analysts. Responsible for the delegation of work to juniors and active supervision of analyses and presentations produced;
- Promote effective communication, and demonstrate the ability to turn ideas into concise and comprehensive presentations;
- Contribute to firm-wide initiatives including recruiting, training, professional development and other activities.
You’ll need to have:
- Previous employment as a Financial Analyst or Associate at a reputable financial services firm such as an investment bank, ‘Big Four’ financial services firm or other similar financial services providers;
- Experience that demonstrates strong M&A execution support abilities;
- A proven track record in the healthcare sector is not required, but is preferred;
- Outstanding analytical skills to support extensive analyses;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Self-motivated and resilient with demonstrated ability to manage conflicting priorities and requests;
- Ability to take initiative and operate independently;
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to maintain relationships with colleagues and clients at all levels;
- Awareness of the regulatory environment;
- Must maintain high standards of professional and ethical conduct, adhere to legal and regulatory requirements of the banking environment;
- Minimum 2.1 university degree classification (or equivalent if studied outside the UK) is required.
