Job description

Job purpose: Support the UK Financial Controller on a day-to-day basis in supplying timely financial and management information for monthly consolidation.

Key Responsibilities: (Key Tasks)

Financial and Management Reporting

  • Monthly close of the assigned general ledgers, processing of standard monthly journal entries, review and rationalisation of trial balance, reconciliation of key control accounts pre-close.
  • Assistance with the compilation of the monthly reporting pack for consolidation to published deadlines.
  • Preparation & consolidation of the Monthly rollforward and other repost as required by closing timetables.
  • Quarterly analysis & management reporting for those assigned ledgers
  • Collation of ad-hoc management information as requested by Houston office or Regional Management.

General Ledger

  • Preparation and posting of standard monthly journal entries for Intercompany funding transactions, payroll, accruals, prepayments, and misc. adjustments.
  • Maintenance of a monthly file of balance sheet reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and integrity at all times.
  • Formally agreeing intercompany balances at month end.
  • Maintaining the fixed asset register and depreciation schedule for the company for assigned ledgers.
  • Analysis of key P&L accounts both for internal management reporting purposes and for statutory disclosure.
  • Preparation of yearend audit files and supporting documentation for the company’s external auditors.
  • Following Company published policies and procedures as published on ForumConnect.

Accounts Payable

  • Responsible for the integrity of the AP ledger for assigned ledgers, ensuring AP balances are clean, current, and identifiable.

Accounts Receivable

  • Responsible for the integrity of the AR Ledger for assigned ledgers and supporting the credit control function of the company.

Payroll

  • Responsible for the collation and submission of the monthly company payroll and posting to G/L.
  • Management of the Outsourced Payroll Process and being main Point of Contact with payroll provider.
  • · Management of the Payroll year end submissions and data gathering to support.
  • Checking and investigation into variances from previous months and other adjustments from standard in the monthly payroll.

Tax

  • Responsible for the collation and submission of the monthly company income tax information.
  • Preparing quarterly VAT returns and maintaining supporting VAT information for Other monthly Tax Returns.
  • Co-ordinate VAT Deferment process with FET UK Ledger owners.

General

  • Completing government returns as required.
  • Liaison and negotiation of utility providers for Cumberland House.
  • Preparation of annual budgets and monthly rolling forecasts and weekly Cash forecasts for Corporate.
  • Complying with mandatory UK and Global training requirements.

Education/Qualifications (essential):

  • Secondary school qualifications.
  • Degree qualified in Accounting/Finance (or equivalent).

Education/Qualifications (desirable):

  • Secondary school qualifications.
  • Degree qualified in Accounting/Finance (or equivalent).

Technical Competencies (desirable):

  • Experience of Navision Accounting System (or equivalent).
  • Experienced in Monthly Reporting and Forecasting in a multinational company environment

  • Understanding of deadline achievements.

Experience (essential):

  • Previous experience in a similar role within an oil and gas service/manufacturing company.

  • Report any unsafe or environmentally unsound acts and conditions to their immediate Supervisor such that remedial action can be taken to manage the risk.
