Opportunity - Senior Account Manager
Purpose:
Reporting into the Head of Commercial you will join the Commercial team as a Senior Account Manager and ultimately become responsible for the full Aldi Ireland range. You will also work collaboratively with the Aldi Account Lead on joint projects for the UK and Ireland. You will be responsible for developing strong relationships with the customer, connecting with key business executives and stakeholders, and preparing strong commercial offers coordinated with other areas of the business. You will develop and grow the existing business and identify new business opportunities among existing or potential new customers in Ireland. In this role, you will liaise extensively with cross-functional internal teams (including Procurement, Design, Production and Technical departments) to respond to fast changing situations in order to ensure continuity of supply, maximised profits for both businesses and continually improving customer relationship. This position will involve some travel, most often to Ireland.
Responsibilities and Skills
- Be the principal contact point at JZF for the assigned customers’ personnel.
- Develop a joint category plan with customers covering new product launches, promotional activity, and pricing and other business development initiatives.
- Work closely with customers’ operational teams to ensure optimum presentation and care of product in store to maximise sales and reduce waste.
- Prepare product costings and gain management approval prior to presentation of new products to customers.
- Provide category direction and guidance to all design, buying, packaging, technical, operational, supply chain, and commercial colleagues to enable effective implementation of your customers range in the business.
- Brief the floral design team as appropriate in preparation for presentation of new product concepts to customers.
- Closely monitor competitive activity within the assigned customers being alert to any opportunities and threats.
- Analyse and interpret relevant data on your customers sales, or the broader market to present relevant insights and proposals.
- Conduct warm calling to identify new business opportunities- Analyse client needs and provide tailored solutions- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure client satisfaction- Prepare and deliver sales presentations to key stakeholders- Monitor market trends and competitor activities- Provide regular reports on sales performance and forecasts
Knowledge
· Proven work experience as an Account Manager, Key Account Manager, Sales Account Manager, or relevant role within FMCG environment.
· Demonstrable ability to communicate, present and influence key stakeholders at all levels of an organisation, including executive.
· Dynamic way of working yet calm and unruffled under stress.
· Be an exceptional listener; use this skill to absorb what is important to our customers and translate this into tangible business proposals.
· Proven ability to juggle multiple account management projects at a time, while maintaining sharp attention to detail.
· Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· BA/BS degree in Business Administration, Sales, or relevant field.
