Senior Account Manager - OpenAthens
Salary: From £37,000 negotiable plus commission (uncapped OTE)
Contract: Permanent
Location: Remote (travel required)

About the role:
OpenAthens, part of Jisc has the vision to become the world’s most user-friendly information access management experience, helping academics, students, scientists and library patrons gain access to the knowledge they need to achieve great things. This role sits in the sales and marketing team who are key to delivering our ambitious growth plans worldwide and maintaining our high customer retention rate with both libraries and publishers.
This is an exciting time of growth and we are looking for an ambitious individual to help deliver our strategic sales plan by owning the ambitious sales and customer retention targets for direct customers, as well as managing a 3rd party reseller to reach their retention targets. You will also work closely with the Product and Marketing teams to inform strategy, whilst prioritising both online and onsite visits to key accounts. We are ideally looking for someone who is able to work flexibly to accommodate US customers during their core working hours. Ability to travel to the US when required is also desirable.

Other responsibilities will include:
- Deliver customer revenue retention targets on customer accounts worth £1,500,000
- Hold high level meetings with key customer stakeholders, face to face and online
- Travel domestically and internationally (if required), to meet customers/attend industry events
- Inform product strategy with relevant customer insight
- Analyse a range of information, see relevance and draw conclusions to meet customer and organisational needs
- Engage technical colleagues to explain more complex concepts to customers during both pre-sales and post sales processes
- Explain technical details and requirements to a non-technical audience, using simplified language to gain customer understanding
Key Skills and Experience:
- Extensive sales or account management experience
- Demonstrable track record of exceeding targets
- Experience of relationship management
- Able to learn complex technical concepts/language and translate into meaningful customer conversations
- High level negotiation and influencing skills
- Focussed on delivering excellent customer experience
