Job Summary
The Sales Department
The principle function of the Commercial Department is to deliver sales revenue and margin growth in line with the annual operating plan (AOP).
The Role
The Senior Account Manager is responsible for sales of business unit solutions in a geography or market. Duties include forecasting and achieving annual objectives for sales, margins and volume growth. Position is focused on securing business from current and prospective accounts. The role reports into the Regional Sales Director. A significant amount of travel is involved within the specified geographical region.
Essential Functions
Accountabilities
- Profitable revenue growth including robust new business development
- Achieve stated gross margin target as a percentage of sales
- Deliver AOP
- Create and maintain CRM data and sales statistics as required
Responsibilities
Financial Responsibility
- Manage the expense budget for the assigned region.
- Provide information for informed price decisions.
- Maximise sales and contribution for the region.
- Negotiate pricing and contracts with customers under the direction of the Regional Sales Director.
- Achieve sales and contribution forecast for the region.
Commercial Responsibility
- As agreed with the Regional Sales Director, develop the account strategy and tactics for Avient Speciality Inks in the region of responsibility.
- Making initial contact with customers & potential distributors.
- Arranging customer/distributor meetings
- Sell the benefits of Avient Specialty Inks.
- Manage the conversion of customer production to Avient Ink systems.
- Maintain regular communication with customer/distributor.
- Identify new product opportunities in the region.
- Provide technical support and liaise with technical/customer service team to ensure customer requirements and satisfaction are maintained.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualifications & Experience
- Educated to Degree standard
- At least 5 -10 years Sales experience in European markets
- Knowledge of the Screen Printing Inks industry is essential
- Ability to effectively and simultaneously manage multiple projects at various stages of the sales process of product and solutions.
- Ability to clearly and comfortably discuss a wide variety of products and technologies.
- Demonstrate strong new business development, client relationship management and sales forecasting expertise.
- Proven track record of consistently achieving sales quotas with targets.
- Demonstrate a successful track record of closing deals and meeting quotas.
- Additional languages capability would be extremely advantageous
- Strong communication skills with the ability to converse at Director/CEO level (both verbally and in writing)
