Job description
SEND Case Officers (Full Time) - Permanent
Why come and work for Bournemouth Christchurch and Poole Special Educational Needs and Disability Team as a SEND Case Officer?
We are a supportive, motivated, and inspirational team, working towards the shared purpose of achieving independence, choice and the best possible results for our service users. The service is undergoing a rapid transformation, and we are looking for proactive individuals to join us in moving forward positively with continuous improvements, working towards robust and positive outcomes for some of our most vulnerable children and young people.
The team has a base at BCP Civic Centre in Bournemouth, with staff working in a hybrid model between home and the office. You may be expected to visit with schools, education providers and families.
A good understanding of SEND including the associated legislation is essential.
This role is both a rewarding and challenging position. With regular supervision and a focus on developing the skills of our Case Officers, we strive to ensure the best for children within BCP.
For an informal discussion about this role please contact Sarah Dendle on 01202 118990.
This authority is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the community and expects all staff and volunteers to share the same commitment. Applicants to this post will be required to complete the appropriate level of Disclosure & Barring Service Check. Please refer to the Person Specification for more details.
This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent English is an essential requirement for the role.
As a result of the creation of BCP Council in 2019, we are working on simplifying our terms and conditions of service and will be creating a single pay structure which is to be applicable for all employees. It is important to us that we offer benefits that our colleagues value as part of their total employment package and we are reviewing these to make sure we have it right. We are in the process of establishing a timescale for implementation and colleagues joining us will be included in these changes. Expected to be in place 2024.
