Contract Type: Temporary 12 month contract
Location: The Council House/Working from home
Do you want to play an exciting part of shaping how Derby City supports professionals to improve outcomes for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?
This role will suit someone who:
- Is looking to be part of our frontline response - advising education settings and professionals on how they can use resources to improve outcomes for those they support.
- Wants to work with the transformation programme to shape how we can support better outcomes for children and young people.
The Support Advice Line advisors will have an integral role in having real impact for children and young people. We are looking for individuals who can bring their experience and knowledge to help shape this offer over a 12-month period.
Advisors will give SENCos the opportunity to talk through a young person’s situation and explore outcomes and options for providing personalised support. The aim is to use a strengths-based approach to offer advice, guidance and support that builds confidence in professionals and promotes early intervention.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to make a real positive difference to the lives of and outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
As part of our safer recruitment checks the successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
All employees will normally be appointed to the minimum of the grade for the job. For reasons connected with a particular need of the Council it may be appropriate, subject to approval, to appoint to a higher point in the pay grade.
Before you complete your application form please read our guidance on filling in your application form.
Quick Tip! Remember to align your personal statement to the Essential Criteria in the Person Specification
Please be aware that where there are staff within the organisation who are 'at risk' of redundancy, requirements to redeploy to another suitable role will apply and take priority.
The closing date for this vacancy is 17 September at midnight. Any applications received after the closing date will not be accepted.
