Job Title: SEN Teachers – September 2023!

I am seeking dedicated and experienced SEN Teachers to join a wonderful specialist school in Redbridge. The successful SEN Teachers will be responsible for providing specialized education to students with special educational needs (SEN) such as autism, SEMH, PMLD and associated conditions.

You can be assured that you will be welcomed into an inclusive and supportive family-like team, and surrounded by multi-disciplinary professionals such as Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Behaviour Specialists and Play/Art/Music Therapists. Everyone is encouraged and supported to develop to their full potential – you will be paired with a ‘buddy’ upon starting at this school to ensure a smooth transition.
There are plenty of areas dedicated to sensory play, such as sensory rooms, outdoor structures and a large soft play frame which was built with the support of the on-site Occupational Therapists!
Responsibilities of SEN Teachers:
- SEN Teachers must be able to develop individualized education plans for each student based on their unique needs and abilities
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the specific needs of each student
- Create a safe and nurturing learning environment that promotes inclusivity and diversity
- Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for students
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and development
- SEN Teachers must attend and participate in relevant meetings, professional development opportunities, and training sessions
Requirements of SEN Teachers:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience working with students with special educational needs, particularly autism and/or learning difficulties
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations, including the SEND Code of Practice
- Ability to develop and implement effective teaching strategies for students with diverse needs and abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous learning
