Weir Minerals Europe is part of the Weir Group PLC, the business has been established for over 150 years and is a world leader in the design and manufacture of pumps, valves, cyclones, vibrating screen machines, crushers and other associated equipment for the mining and minerals processing industries.
Business Need / Purpose of Role:
We are seeking a Semi-Skilled Machine operator and balancer to operate Manual Vertical Borers and Balancing rigs. This involves machining and balancing small to large Impellers in a variety of Chrome Irons.
Operators will be expected to produce product to the specific requirements and to a high-quality standard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manual machining with turret lathes
- A basic understanding of engineering drawings
- Balancing rig operation and grinding
- Use of paint booth
- Safe operations of heavy engineering equipment
- Working to tolerances
Experience & Qualifications:
- Experience in machining/metal removal preferrable
- Possess a positive attitude towards modern manufacturing processes
- Willingness to adopt lean manufacturing principles
- Self-motivated
- Focused towards working within a devoted and continuously improving health and safety culture.
- Ability to work under pressure and achieve tight deadlines.
- Flexible to work night shift and work across all three shifts (6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, 10pm-6am)
