Job description
Responsibilities will include:
- Ensure caveats or restrictions relating to clearance holders are handled, recorded, and communicated correctly
- Maintain an ‘up to date’ Vetting spreadsheet, and ensure that this information is mirrored in our Central Vetting Register
- Comply with all Government standards relating to aftercare for all clearance holders in line with the Industry Personnel Security Assurance Framework
- Conduct and follow all security processes created to handle security appraisal forms, change in personal circumstances, travel & security briefs
- Liaise with the United Kingdom Security Vetting and other HMG vetting authorities
- Inform the Divisional Security Controller about any Security Incidents
- Observance of the Official Secrets Act and contribute towards a positive Security culture
- Arrange site passes and Drug and Alcohol screenings
- Act as point of contact for all staff and contractors for both specific vetting and general enquiries
- Ensure enquiries are dealt with effectively and efficiently considering data protection and other security considerations in relation to disclosure of information
Candidate Specification
- You will need to be willing to be government cleared at SC level
- Understand security vetting processes having worked in a similar role previously
- Strong organisational skills, ability to work independently, accurately, and methodically under pressure, handling several matters simultaneously, whilst meeting time limits
- Ability to respond to changing priorities without compromise to client sites
- Good command of the English language (both oral and written) and sufficiently well-developed IT skills with Microsoft products
- It is essential that the post holder can operate, interrogate, and produce accurate reports and outputs that will be used by the organisation
- Experience in handling a high scale of confidential and sensitive information in a discreet and professional manner
- Worked in a security department (desirable)
- Knowledge of Security, HR, or Procurement processes (desirable)
