Permanent Position: Security & Traffic Officer x 3 positions

Salary: £32,595 to £33,620 circa per annum (consolidated salary)

Hours of Work: Average of 40 hours per week

Rotating Shifts 6am to 6pm / 6pm to 6am plus flexibility to provide cover for absence

We are looking for three dynamic and motivated individuals with relevant experience to join our team as a Security & Traffic Officer. Working in an extremely fast-paced environment, you will need to be dynamic and flexible to respond effectively to the wide range of every day operational requirements of the bridge.

The Operations team are onsite 24/7 primarily to facilitate their safe passage and ensure customers pay the correct toll for their vehicle classification. We also have a duty of care to the non-paying customers (pedestrians and cyclists) who use the Humber Bridge daily for commuting and pleasure purposes.

We provide around the clock security to the Humber Bridge estate, and are the first responders to all incidents, before passing on to the emergency services or other services when necessary.

As well as acting as an ambassador for the Humber Bridge, responsibilities in this role will include:

  • The safety and security of all staff, customers and public on the toll plaza
  • Facilitate the safe passage to all users of the bridge and prevent unauthorised passage when necessary
  • Ensure the Humber Bridge Estate is secure at all times by operating security patrols by foot and vehicle
  • Drive and operate all authorised fleet vehicles, including LGVs (CAT C)
  • Perform Emergency Traffic Management to recognised industry standards
  • Operate within the Humber Bridge bye-laws and enforce as require
