Job Title: Security Receptionist (Manchester)
Department: Security/ Workplace
Reporting to: Security Supervisor
Shifts are 1300-1900 Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and 0700-1900 Friday (B/Hol working not required)
Overview of the position:
The KPMG Manchester office is in a prestigious 13 floor, multi-tenanted building in the heart of Manchester’s business district. The office has a footfall of up to 2000 staff, visitors and clients per day and it is essential that their arrival is met with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. KPMG occupy space on the Ground, 10th,11th,12th,and 13th floor therefore a co-ordinated approach is required when dealing with visitors and clients alike.
The Security Reception position is very much focused on delivering an Exceptional Customer experience which complements the professionalism and warmth of the company.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
The job holder will be expected to carry out some or all the following duties:
- Receive and greet all visitors in a polite, professional, and friendly manner.
- Record the details of the visitors, to issue and retrieval of all Visitors’ badges.
- Ensure that the reception area and meeting rooms remain tidy throughout the day.
- Take bookings for meeting rooms and ensure that equipment and refreshments are offered and booked.
- Take and pass on messages for clients and visiting staff.
- Report accident information to the Health & Safety team monthly.
- Promote both KPMG and ISS by employing and maintaining a “can always do ” attitude.
- Read and understand the requirements of the Facilities Health and Safety policy and the procedures relating to the job. Set a leading personal example.
- Respond effectively to general enquiries from internal and external clients/contacts and suppliers. Provide information to all management levels.
- Maintain a close working relationship with security colleagues, embracing a “one team” culture and ensuring that open communication is maintained.
- Support other members of the Reception and Security team as may be required from time to time, especially during absence.
- Undertake ad-hoc projects as directed by the Workplace and Security Management team.
- Undertake any other duties which may reasonably be deemed to come within the scope of the post.

Qualifications/Competencies
Education
Professional Qualification
To be educated to at least GCSE level standard or equivalent.
Essential - SIA Security Licences (Guarding or DS)
Literacy
Essential - The job holder is required to read, understand and write standard letters and procedures.
Numeracy
Desirable - The job holder is required to calculate and interpret the methods used in analysing information.
Problem Solving Ability
Desirable - The job holder is expected to formulate proposals/procedures and contribute to change. Reactive problem solving may be required.

Staff contact - all levels
Essential - Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken word, particularly telephone and interpersonal skills. Persuasiveness is required at this level and there is extensive internal and external contact. In particular the areas of concern are:

Knowledge/
Experience
1-2 years security reception/administration experience for a large organisation.
