About the Role
The Security Operations Manager is the planning lead for security operations and technical and physical security assets across all QMUL locations. Reporting into the Head of Security and Emergency Planning.
Main duties and responsibilities
- The delivery of security operations across all QMUL campuses.
- Ensure all policies / procedures are complied with.
- Promote continuous improvement.
- Carry out horizon scanning
- Develop and provide on KPIs
- Ensure that all security training and competencies are completed
- Understand the security threats / risks to QMUL
- Develop strong internal and external stakeholder networks.
- Implement an audit and quality assurance process for all security systems.
- Ensure all resources are in place 24/7.
- Planning and managing events
- Out of hours on call roster
As a senior member of the University the following applies:
- You will be expected to work such hours as are reasonably necessary to fulfil the duties and responsibilities of the role.
About You
- A member of an appropriate professional body (e.g., Security Institute, AUCSO)
- Hold and maintain an SIA Licence
- Experience in security systems
- Well versed in security risk assessments.
- Senior security management experience
- 3rd party security contract management.

The post is based at the Mile End Campus in London with expectation to visit other local campuses. It is full time, permanent appointment. The starting salary will be Grade 5, in the range of £41,386 - £48,414 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
