We are seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic Security Officers to join our diverse Security Operations Team. You will be at the forefront of delivering an exceptional front-facing service to a growing Imperial community working across all College Campuses located in London. If you have previous experience in delivering high quality security or customer-based service, then this key role may be a perfect fit for you.
As a Security Officer the primary responsibility for this role is to provide security and safeguard all students, staff and visitors within the College community. The role requires the ability to promote and maintain high security standards and you will be required to work on a rotating 48-hour shift pattern that includes day and night shifts, covering 365 days of the year. Security training will be provided in line with Security Health and Safety practices and College Policies and Procedures.
It is important that you can demonstrate an understanding of excellent customer service skills that includes displaying a calm and polite manner, being patient and paying close attention to detail when managing various situations or challenges. Comprehensive incident reports and statements are part of the role, so excellent verbal and written communication is crucial. An understanding of confidentiality is essential, along with a flexible and adaptable approach to the role.

Duties and responsibilities
The work of the Security Officer is to assist with the provision of security services to ensure a safe, secure and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors on campus in accordance with College Policy, Security Standing Orders and Instructions. As a key member of the Security Department the postholder must be fully committed ensuring a professional, customer-orientated and value for money service is provided to the College Community.
Responsibility involves the protection of persons, property and prevention of crime.
Duties includes routine patrol and monitor assigned campuses on various shifts; responding to different types of emergencies; investigation and incident report writing and work on specific tasks as directed by the Team Leader. All duties must be completed in a professional and timely manner and meet relevant legislations.
