Security Officer
The University of Aberdeen is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Security Officer within Estates and Facilities to assist in the delivery of a 24/7/365 security service across University premises.

As a Security Officer you will be required to work a core 24/7 shift pattern, consisting of mainly late and nightshifts when rostered to work between Monday - Friday, and 12 hours day and nightshifts on Saturday and Sunday, although flexibility is required.
The ability to work successfully as part of a team and excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills are essential to the role.
Our team carry out a wide range of duties including foot patrols across the University estate at both Kings and Foresterhill Campuses, securing buildings, CCTV and alarm monitoring, responding to a range of alerts and alarms and providing institutional first response to incidents and emergencies.

To be successful in the role, you will have experience of working with the public, and be required to deal with sensitive situations, remain calm under pressure, and possess the ability to appraise situations quickly and effectively.
You should be educated to standard grade level or equivalent and must have a good standard of literacy to provide clear incident reports and complete relevant management documentation.
The successful candidate will be provided with a uniform, protective clothing and on site training and mentoring.
Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 3 scale (£22,197 - £24,715 per annum), with placement according to qualifications and experience.
