Role Summary:
Minimize theft within retail premises
Arrest suspected shoplifters (adhering to ASCONE)
Carry out civil recovery on shoplifters where applicable
Provide an Elite uniformed presence within a retail premises
Provide a safe and secure working environment for all staff
Provide a safe and secure environment for all shoppers
Use body camera during any incidents and to maintain staff and customer safety
Smart Water deployment for use in serious incidents only to assist with identification of offenders (training modules to be completed prior to deployment and armband worn at all times)
Responsibilities:
To maintain a high-profile visual deterrent on the sales floor to prevent theft
Maintain working knowledge of Assignment Instructions and Risk Assessments.
Manage violent & aggressive customers.
Fully understand criminal and civil offences.
Complete dynamic risk assessments throughout shift.
Fully trained in physical intervention and knowledge of when to deploy.
To patrol the shop floor to prevent and detect theft and only as a last resort detain persons for theft (strictly adhering to ASCONE procedure).
To arrest any persons found committing an indictable offence within the confines of the store ensuring that any such arrest is carried out within the law and in accordance with store policies and procedures.
Carry out initial investigations and report both verbally and in writing on incidents of theft and suspicious activities.
Complete witness and incident statements.
Obtain statements from witnesses.
Fully trained in all methods of deterring.
To maintain good order on the shop floor and discourage anti-social behaviour.
Refuse admission to or escort undesirable elements from the store.
Convey store policies and emergency procedures to visitors.
Report all incidents via the Lodgic Live platform.
Person Specification
Minimum 3 years experience in the security industry or equivalent (Police, Armed Forces, investigations etc)
Fully trained on the Elite Team Core Skills (will be provided)
Fully knowledge of Hostile Reconnaissance
Physical Intervention trained
Full knowledge of the Theft Act 1968 and Theft Amendment act 1996
Full knowledge of public disorder offences
Protester Management trained (will be provided)
Full knowledge of Smart Water and all training modules (will be provided)
Valid SIA licence
Body Camera trained with full knowledge of deployment
Excellent written and verbal communication
