Are you an experienced Security Officer? Or are you looking to steer your career in that direction but not quite sure where to start and if you are experienced enough? Does the opportunity of providing security service for one of our fashion retailer logistic sites excite you?
We are currently on the lookout for a Security Officer to join us on 12 weeks, fix term basis (with a possibility to lead to a full-time position) at our River Island site in Milton Keynes. You will work a continental shift pattern – rotating days and nights on 12 hours shifts (6am-6pm and 6pm-6am)
Based in the security gate shed, you will be guarding the access to the site and monitoring surrounding areas via CCTV. You will also play an important role in the transport department, liaising with them frequently on any vehicle or delivery coming in or out of the site.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £33,500 per annum. In addition, we offer 28 days annual leave (including bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. What you’ll do on a typical day:
Support the transport department with logging and communicating all vehicles coming in and out of the site- Monitoring the site and surroundings via CCTV
- Communicating and escalating to senior management any danger, risks and emergencies
- Ad hoc security activities such as vehicles searches, reporting or escalating senior management
What you need to succeed at GXO:
Willingness to learn and flexibility in working hours is the key, the rest will be provided even if you haven’t got previous experience in a similar role- 5-year checkable work history (without breaks longer than 30 days)
- Ability to pass the DBS checks
- Basic IT skills to operate CCTV equipment, sending emails and creating reports
