Job description
We are actively seeking a Security Officer to join our team working with and around one of the most exciting venues in the UK in central London.
The successful candidate will have some experience in the security industry, preferably from roles working in shopping centres, private housing complexes or similar. The candidate will have a strong customer focus, to be able to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team.
Shift
Wednesday to Saturday Nights. 2100-0700. 10 hour shifts. £13.50 per hour.
Overview
- To protect the integrity, security and safety of the site, its employees, guests, and visitors.
- Protect the company’s assets against theft, assault, fire, and other safety issues.
- Investigate security breaches, incidents, and other alarming behaviour.
- Respond to emergencies and incidents within designated areas promptly and according to policy.
- Complete reports and record observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities.
- Ensure compliance with government regulations.
- Deliver the highest levels of customer service which consistently demonstrate the core values of First Response Group.
Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Display an outstanding level of customer service.
- Prevent and deter unauthorised access to non-public areas of the site.
- Conduct external and internal security patrols as detailed in the Assignment Instructions.
- Perform locking and unlocking duties as detailed in the Assignment Instructions.
- Assist employees and visitors with any concerns they might have.
- Display the highest standard of personal presentation and smartness of uniform to maintain the image of First Response Group and the customer.
- Ensure any equipment provided by the customer and First Response Group is managed in accordance with procedures as detailed in the Assignment Instructions.
- To provide support, guidance and information to all staff, visitors and contractors whilst ensuring the safeguarding of the premises.
- Ensure all employees and visitors have proper accreditation for accessing buildings.
- Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed at all times and to record and report all faults, hazards, and unsafe working practices.
- Report and record all accidents in accordance with the Assignment Instructions.
- Ensure all walkways and emergency escape routes are always kept clear.
- Report any usage of First Aid equipment and shortfalls in the contents of first aid boxes.
- Respond and investigate all Fire and intruder alarm activations.
- Report instances of property at risk of being lost, stolen, damaged and/or vandalised.
- Carry out initial investigations and report both verbally and in writing incidents, suspicious activities and vehicles.
- Identify opportunities for improving practices and processes and discuss with the duty manager and site operations manager.
- Ensure all paperwork is completed in a timely fashion and conduct effective handover procedures.
- Escalate emergency situations to law enforcement as needed.
Health and Safety

- Must be over eighteen.
- Have a five-year checkable employment history or be able to produce documents supporting any period of unemployment, self-employment, or full and part time education.
- Must have demonstratable experience of working in a similar role in high profile/high footfall environments
