Position Summary

The role of Security Officer is to ensure our sites including The Macallan Estate, Glenrothes Distillery and our Parkmore warehousing site are kept safe and secure. We have 24/7 security presence at The Macallan Estate 24 hours a day, the role will make a significant contribution to our incident management processes and to ensure we provide a safe and secure environment for colleagues and guests. The role will cover the security of our buildings and grounds, and the protection of our spirit stocks and company assets.

Job Description

Reporting to the Distillation Security Manager and Security Team Leader, key tasks and responsibilities include:

Complying with the Standard Operating Procedures and Security Strategy across the sites
Monitoring CCTV imagery and operating CCTV systems in line with the requirements of GDPR
Monitoring our digital mobile radio network, managing our card- access system
Monitoring fire alarm systems, intruder alarm systems & investigating alarm activations and other occurrences and taking necessary action
Delivering effective critical key management
Providing an effective first-point-of-contact service for visitors to the Macallan Estate, in keeping with it’s status as a luxury destination
Conducting searches of people, vehicles and places, carrying out foot and vehicle borne patrols of our Speyside sites
Maintaining logs and keeping accurate records
Supporting and assisting Macallan Estate, distillery, warehousing, and other Edrington colleagues as required
Supporting managers in the event of critical incidents on site, supporting on-call managers, out-of-hours
Controlling site access
Liaising with emergency services as required
Working closely with members of the wider security team based at Great Western Road, Glasgow, to ensure the security of high value spirit being transported between sites

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and are naturally a problem solver. You have previous experience in security and experience of carrying out dynamic risk assessments. With high attention to detail you are able to deal with unexpected situations to deliver desirable outcomes. You have a positive ,can-do attitude. You are an effective contributor to team goals however you are comfortable working alone or with minimal supervision. You demonstrate self confidence and flexibility in changing circumstances. You hold a clean full UK driving licence.
