As a Landside Response Officer in our Small Boats Operational team, you’ll be playing a crucial part in the Saving of Lives at Sea operation and identifying vulnerable people who may require medical or welfare support.

Your role
Your Security Officer work will be mainly based at Dover or Ramsgate. Official vehicles are available at Essex and West Sussex ports for daily or short-notice travel to a variety of ports if necessary (you’ll need a full manual driving licence)
You’ll start with a minimum of 3 weeks training at one of our hubs and from there, you’ll be carrying out a range of activities including
· Checking passengers and their documentation
· Interviewing individuals and carrying out investigations, searches, and arrests
· Dealing with casework queries and ensuring any decisions are followed up appropriately
· Visiting a range of maritime and high-risk locations on patrol and carrying out security and freight searches (you’ll need to be physically fit)
· Liaising with stakeholders and law enforcement partners to preserve evidence, arrest offenders and manage detention
· Collecting information to aid intelligence and security
