Description JOB TITLE: Security Officer LOCATION: Waterloo, London PAY RATE: £12.70per hour SHIFTS: 12 hours shifts, 4 days on/ 4 days off ( 07:00-19:00, 19:00-07:00) Full flexibility required Main Duties & Responsibilities: Maintain a safe and secure environment for customers and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel. Provide a security contact for customers and staff. Provide excellent customer service. Deter anti-social behaviour, theft and criminal activity. Liaise with the Police and management when required. Complete reports by recording observations, information, occurrences and surveillance activities. Deal with any difficult situations that arise in a safe and professional manner. Always appear polished and professional ABM uniform and grooming guidlines. To Assist with the proactive management of the Security Team and cleaning team To assist with the cleaning whenever requested by the management Assist the Soft Service Manager to manage, record, and deliver training as required to all staff in line with requirements. Ensure that an effective handover takes place at the end of the shift with oncoming sift; and that all keys, equipment, and documentation are properly accounted for. Reporting any discrepancies, faults or malfunctions should be immediately reported to the Soft Service Manager To be responsible for all keys and access cards provided to the team and report any security concerns immediately to a senior member of staff within the Facilities section Ensuring that all work is undertaken in compliance with the site operating procedures. Ensure that all areas of the mall are always kept clean and tidy Report any maintenance faults or other defects to the centre Management Escalate any problems to Line Management Manager. To be courteous, helpful, and efficient, ensuring high standards of customer service are being delivered. Additional responsibilities will include but are not limited to: monitoring CCTV, assisting with vehicle movement in our Loading bay, control of keys, to carry out weekly Fire Alarm tests and any other duties requested by the Security Manager or the centre management. Person Specification: SG or DS licence essential. CCTV license essential A full five-year checkable employment / education history. Experience in corporate / retail security is desirable. Experience in customer service is desirable. Good organisational skills. Excellent communication skills are required both written and verbal. Computer skills to include basic knowledge of MS Office. Valid First Aid at Work certificate. Well presented, and high grooming standards. Outgoing and friendly with a can-do attitude. Reliable & punctual.
