Security Control Room Operator
Reporting of the role
This role reports to Head of Security
Overview of job
The Security Control Room Operator role reports to the Head of Security. You will be required to work on average 15 shifts per month with the opportunity to pick up additional overtime shifts, if desired.
You will be required to coordinate access control to the building, ensure our people and property are protected, along with other duties such as acting as the point of contact for any delegated liaison with law enforcement or visiting parties (CP teams/Met Police/Government).

Measures of success –
In the first few months, you would have:

Have a thorough knowledge and understanding of security systems and be prepared to act as the point of contact during emergency situations such as evacuations, disturbances and building lockdowns.
Responsibilities of the role
Access Control – Assist the Team Leader (when required) to coordinate the security team in order to control ingress and egress for staff, guests and contractors from site.
Security – Protecting our people and property from unwanted individuals, unauthorised access, damage and any form of disturbance.
Liaison – Be prepared to act as the point of contact for any delegated liaison with law enforcement or visiting parties (CP teams/Met Police/Government).
Patrols – Assist the Team Leader (when required) to ensure regular patrols are conducted (internal & external) to check likely points of ingress are secured and to promote a feeling of safety security within the building. Minimum of six overnight (one every two hours) and as many as feasibly possible during the day.
Team Management – Assist the Security Operations Manager with the management of rosters, holidays and security officer appraisals.
Training & Development – Lead with the technical (control room related) training of security staff to support the organisation and build a safe environment and culture in the workplace - create training programmes and packages when required.
SOPs & Procedures – Assist in the writing of SOPs and procedures and implement the contained strategies. Implement and update security related processes and reports and logs.
Emergency Procedures – Have a thorough knowledge and understanding of security systems and be prepared to act as the point of contact during emergency situations such as evacuations, disturbances and building lockdowns.
Legislation – Be a subject matter expert and have a clear understanding of legislation when dealing with unwanted guests, protesters and stalkers e.g. section 68 – aggravated.
Technology & Helpdesk – Assist the Security Operations Manager with any security related tickets and issues. This is to include regular audits of access control passes for ALL Global sites.
Deliveries – Assist the Team leader to implement and control of incoming deliveries and ensure that relevant and proportionate security procedures are put in place to facilitate.
Project Support – Support the Head of Security in delivering various projects and tasks when required and take on additional responsibilities when senior management are not on site.
CCTV/Access Control Systems – Ensure all Security Officers are trained and proficient in the use of CCTV and access control software/platforms – conduct training and regular checks.
Security Role Cover – Be prepared to cover other members of the team when required during period of sick, leave and training.
Events – Assist events & workspace departments (when required) in co-ordinating security functions during on site events and providing clear comms to the security team.

A valid SIA Public space surveillance (CCTV)licence.
A valid SIA Door supervision licence.
CCTV/Security control room experience.
