Royal HaskoningDHV have a dedicated Security and Telecommunications team specialising in providing expert technical advice to the global maritime market.
We provide consultancy and design services to the global maritime market. We specialise in the feasibility, design, and specification of a wide range of Security and Telecommunications technologies within Ports, Shipyards and Container Terminals.

The majority of our projects follow the principals of Critical National Infrastructure and the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code. Our projects are a mix of commercial, public, governmental and defence.
What you will do as Security and Telecommunications
In this versatile and dynamic role, you will lead the Security and Telecommunications design scopes on global projects within the maritime industry.
Project includes both greenfield and brownfield projects within ports, shipyards and container terminals.
Duties will include:
- Prepare designs for Security and Telecommunications systems, from initial concepts through to detailed designs.
- Collaborate with our engineers and continuously look for the best technical solutions.
- Determining the best design approach to be undertaken
- Participate in client meetings relating to the Security and Telecommunications discipline
- Collaborate with our Revit Technicians to develop a 3D Revit model in line with the project requirements
- Develop Security and Telecommunications performance specifications
- Develop Security and Telecommunications tender design packages
- Co-Ordination the Security and Telecommunications scopes with other disciplines
- Support Apprentices to develop and learn
Location:
The role will be based in one of our UK offices but will be hybrid in nature, incorporating office and home working. We are flexible with regard location for the right candidate.
Our key Maritime offices are:
Newcastle, Exeter, Brighton, Edinburgh, London, Peterborough, Leeds and Liverpool.
As our team is spread across the UK, travel between offices will be required along with occasional travel to client offices in the UK and abroad.

- A desire to develop within a global consultancy design team

Have 1-2 years of design engineering experience within a similar industry

Have 1-2 years of experience in Security and Telecommunications Systems

Experience Autodesk products (viewing / mark ups)

Experience BIM360 (viewing / mark ups)

Experience in design project delivery

Good interpersonal skills

Excellent written and verbal communication, organisational, analytical and time management skills
- Experience in standard Microsoft packages: Words, Excel, etc.
